CHRISTOPHER CRUMPET (1953) UPA $325
35mm IB-Tech Print in Average Condition. Some splices.  No VS
DIR: Robert Cannon  CAST: Marvin Miller, Marian Richman
WRITERS: T. Hee, Robert Cannon  PRODUCER: Stephen Bosustow

Fine example of the expressionistic trend UPA championed in the mid-fifties.  Who’s who of animation pioneers. Bill Melendez of Charlie Brown fame was one of the animators.

Through drawings, an illustrator tells his dog the story of a boy named Christopher Crumpet. Christopher can, at will, change himself from a little boy into a chicken. He threatens to do so if his father, Marvin, won't buy him a rocket ship. Marvin doesn't want a chicken for a son, so he does whatever he can to appease Christopher. But time after time as Marvin fails to come through with the rocket ship Christopher wants, Christopher turns himself into a chicken. Bilgewater, Marvin's co-worker, upon seeing Christopher change himself from a boy to a chicken, thinks he can take advantage of the situation. But Marvin does whatever he possibly can to thwart Bilgewater's plans. The illustrator has a specific reason for telling his dog Christopher's story.

CHIP AN’ DALE (1947) A Donald Duck Cartoon $125
35mm Eastman Print in Excellent Condition, although faded. Original leaders. No VS.
DIR: Jack Hannah  CAST: James MacDonald, Dessie Flynn, Clarence Nash
Nominated for Best Short Subject 1948
Although not their first cartoon appearance, this is the first one they starred in:  Donald needs a log for his fire. Unfortunately, the tree he picks is occupied by a couple of chipmunks and their stash of acorns. When he cuts it down, Chip and Dale fall out, but their acorns stay behind, so they work to put out the fire and retrieve their stash. Donald, of course, takes this as calmly and cheerfully as you would expect.

The only Tom & Jerry cartoon where Jerry failed to frame Tom. Spike has just put Tyke to bed for his nap when Tom and Jerry chase out the door to Tyke's crib, waking him up. This gives Tyke an attack of hiccups. Spike warns Tom not to wake him up again, which of course is all Jerry needs to hear.

Disney 2000’short. Shown in theaters with THIRD MAN ON THE MOUNTAIN and 6 cartoons.

But there's no rest, as they need to round up all the animals, his sons, their wives, and his wife (who packs a ferocious picnic). The animals soon develop cabin fever but Mrs. Noah has the answer: "Music has charms to soothe the savage beast." His sons find instruments and begin playing; everyone dances. But Harry the hippo dances with everyone but his wife; Noah goes to her, and while she tells him not to mention Harry's name.

THE OLD MILL (1937) DISNEY SOLD
 35mm Flat Print.  Eastman.
DIST: Walt Disney Productions. DIR: Wilfred Jackson.  CAST: Marie Arbuckle, Clarence Nash, Quito DeClarence, Jean MacMurray  Although faded now, this print was stunning when I used to project it at major functions in LA back in the day.  Unfortunately, we have lost a good percentage of color here.   Not much in the way of wear.  Look at those perfs! Original intact leaders.  This is a very special Silly Symphony which showcased the Multiplane camera before being used on Snow White.  A true perfect blend of subtle storytelling, exquisite animation, and enchanting music.  You never see this one in 35mm, especially in such perfect shape.
THE PEBBLE AND THE PENGUIN (1995)  SOLD

RUDOLPH THE RED-NOSED REINDEER  (1948) SOLD

The first time audiences ever got to see Rudolph in motion was in this 1948 animated short film by Max Fleischer. Although the short has remained fairly obscure for years, it has garnered somewhat of a cult following thanks to Rifftrax and animation enthusiasts. This is the last cartoon ever produced by Max Fleischer.
TOM AND JERRY: THE MOVIE (1992) SOLD
