WWll GUN CAMERA ~ SOLD
Authentic Vintage World War II US Army Gun Camera. Model AN-N6. Manufactured by The Lackner Company in Cincinnati, OH. Used to produce movies of the missions flown. Very rare. Spec. No 75-366 Mfrrs. Ass'y No. E334-BF4 SN. Includes SIX EMPTY film magazines. A camera lens is NOT included. Camera shows use and age but overall good, but we do not guarantee functionality. 16mm film cameras were used by combat cameramen. The cameras were affixed to their aircraft to record results of combat and aerial rocket firing. Cameras were installed in the nose, wings, or just forward of the cockpit to record the actions of the firing. They mostly ran on 24 volts but some of the earliest ones used 12 volts. The cameras had 3 speeds. Each camera held one film magazine with 50 feet of black and white 16mm film. Depending on the film speed chosen, it could film from 31 seconds to 2 minutes and 5 seconds. |
